Since 2011, the wonderful Tommy, and a team of volunteers have turned the spot into an extremely well kept, fully functioning, and beautiful allotment. The allotment is currently in excellent condition. It has been cared for so well with skill and dedication for many years. The allotment is on a sizeable plot and produces many vegetables throughout the year, which are then available to our community, in return for donations. There is a greenhouse and two sheds; one shed is well equipped with gardening tools, and the other with a seating area ideal for a tea break. There are toilet facilities, a small picnic area, and a reception within the Lakeview site. The allotment plot is in a beautiful, safe, secure, and tranquil spot too; perfect for mental wellbeing. There are so many benefits, and we can see the future potential for other community activities throughout the year. Tommy has asked us to spread the word for new volunteers and he is very keen to ensure that two decades’ of work are handed over smoothly. We can arrange a site visit and support for the new Allotment Manager and team.
